Event Description:
The Jackson County Chamber of Commerce is partnering with First Federal Bank to host a brand-new event geared towards uplifting local women in leadership. “Ladies First: A Focus on Putting Yourself First in Mind, Body and Spirit” brings together local women in leadership for professional and personal development, as well as an opportunity for focused networking. From young entrepreneurs to seasoned community leaders, this event is sure to enlighten every woman who serves in a leadership capacity. The event will be held on Friday, September 2nd at Eastside Baptist Church in Marianna. The event begins at 10am and will continue through lunch. The event is expected to conclude around 1pm.

The mind panel will be moderated by Sandy Spear, Senior Vice President and Regional Sales Manager of First Federal Bank. This panel will focus on the importance of continuing education, lifelong learning, and professional development.

The body panel will be moderated by Brooke Donaldson, DEO of Jackson Hospital. This panel will focus on maintaining a healthy lifestyle while balancing the challenges of a busy career and family life. Brook will be joined by an OBGYN, Dermatologist and Nutritionist.

The spirit panel will be moderated by Carmen Smith, Executive Director of Chipola Area Habitat for Humanity. This panel will focus on mental health and spiritual wellness.

In between panels, there will be three segments titled “Raising Strong Women”, and we will hear commentary from three mother-daughter duos and their experiences they share from working together. Our participants will be Desiree Baggett and Grace Daffin of A Wild Hair, Karen Edwards and Katrice Davis of the Jackson County Health Department, and Kathy Milton and Lindsy Chance of Chipola Realty.

The day will end with an Enlightening Conversation with Jackson County Native Angela Riley Santone. Angela currently serves as the Senior Vice President of Human Resources at AT&T. Chamber President & CEO Tiffany Wilson Garling will chat with Angela about how she maintains a balanced life while overseeing Human Resource Operations for AT&T 200,000 plus employees.
